Dr. Harvest L. Collier University of Missouri-Rolla
|
Dr. Harvest L. Collier received his Ph.D. in chemistry in 1977 from Mississippi State University. He currently serves
as a professor of chemistry at the University of Missouri-Rolla, where he is chairman of the
department and a student advisor. He has made many contributions in the fields of inorganic
chemistry and polymer research, including developments in coatings science, as well as
industrial coatings education. He serves as president of the Alliance for Advanced Coatings
Research and takes a leadership role in developing technical educational resources for pre-college
and undergraduate students. Dr. Collier maintains membership in a number of professional
organizations, including the American Chemical Society, Sigma Xi and the Federation of Societies

Dr. Michael R. Van De Mark University of Missouri-Rolla
|
Dr. Michael R. Van De Mark currently works with the University of
Missouri-Rolla as the Coatings Institute director and an associate professor of chemistry
specializing in polymer, coatings and organic synthesis research. His areas of interest include
flash-rust inhibition, water-reducible resin synthesis and characterization, phthalocyanine pigment
research, low VOC and waterborne formulation, and organic photo and electro-chemistry. D.
Van De Mark earned his Ph.D. from Texas A&M University, followed by a two-year postdoctoral at the
University of Minnesota. His career achievements include developing several new protocols for industry

Roobol On Painting

Dr. Norman Roobol Industrial Painting Consultant
|
Dr. Norman Roobol is a well-known painting consultant and author of two popular books: "Painting
Problems Solved" and "Industrial Painting Principles and Practices." He has published over 300
technical finishing papers, has taught more than 150 painting classes and is a frequent speaker
at seminars. His past work experience includes positions as professor of chemistry at the GMI
Institute and research chemist for Shell Oil. In 1989 he moved his company, NR Painting Consultants,
from Michigan to Peachtree City, GA. During his painting consultant work of the last 28 years,
Dr. Roobol has helped more than 500 manufacturers with their paint process and equipment
